Iroquois Traditional Teaching
Corn, beans and squash are a traditional food of the Iroquois and known as the three sisters. When human beings started taking certain foods and animals for granted a long time ago, the Three Sisters wanted to leave this world. So, the humans agreed to acknowledge them in annual ceremonies to encourage them to stay.
